What to Blame: Is it my SEO tools or is it Google?
I admit. Prior to hearing about SEO applications and site optimization business, I considered that Google was the best thing ever. I Used Google to look for anything from human beings, to pictures, to news stories to strange things and blindly trusted the findings. Then I found out about SEO apps and a new business focused on promoting sites, and my beliefs changed. But even before my discovery, having done some philosophical analysis, I got a feeling that search engines, Google included, know far from everything, and reveal to the web community a fraction of what they know.
My Google travails soon persuaded me that Flikr is a higher quality image search source, that with the assistance of Digg I can access great news stories without having to rummage through Google search findings (rummaging is more appropriate than Google search), and people search is best administered by Facebook. It seems like every time I look for strange things on Google, the results are often inaccurate, to put it mildly. Try searching for SEO programs and other SEO connected subjects on Google and you are almost ready to give up your patience. I mean, come on, what’s the relationship between SEO products and online education webpages or Web casinos? Fortunately, in my frustrations.
So when news of best seo tools software and the whole industry built around it invaded my humble worldview, my doubts about webpages appearing on P1 of Google increased exponentially. Do they merit to show up on there and whose fault is it, Google or webmasters using SEO tools. The ethical dilemma is huge. Do I stop using my SEO rank checker or do I quit using Google instead? I decided that I can’t boycott Google just yet. At least not until the decent contender enters the picture. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will continue playing with my SEO programs.
To be honest, SEO products is the reason why people like me get some visibility on the net. Sophisticated as they are, search engine Web spiders are not likely to find some no-name dude and position his domain well. In this regard, I am a steadfast admirer of SEO apps and non-paid search. If it was all about the paid search, the Fortune giants would demolish me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of businesses on the Fortune list! But here is something else that irks me and other backlink checker users, I am sure. There are people who buy SEO software products and use them to sell beddingon casino sites and the like. What we are given is junk that not only permeates the Internet but is also highly indexed by Google.
What is the public reaction to this? People search for SEO software reviews and will instead find junk SERPs. They get disillusioned. So much for the “Internet equality”. Does this imply that SEO application and service industry is harmful? I don’t think so.
The unethical users of SEO applications have to stop corrupting the Internet but it’s like ordering hackers to stop hacking. The bad thing about it is that black hat SEOs are overusing the chance to be noticeable on the Net that is offered to the little person like myself. For now we just have to be patient with them. We can only wish that Google will put more emphasis on catching the schemers unethically using SEO applications, and if Google doesn’t, the new search engine will.
